Vegas...Hoover Dam

hooverdam_4 mom_calvin_dam2 Surprisingly with as many times as I've been to Vegas, I've never been to Hoover Dam, at least not to my knowledge. Who knows maybe I drove over it one time. I was surprised to find it a far cry from Selma Hayek's quiet little thinking spot in Fool's Rush In. It was still impressive even though it was swarming with people.hooverdam_1hooverdam_2az_time nevada_time As the mature adult that I am, I had fun doing my best to be in two states at once.

And the worst job in the world is...

This is the bypass they are building for all the semi's to travel by. The picture doesn't do this justice. The thing looked like it was being built straight up and it is way above the dam. So scary, it would so suck to fall off that.carter_meg

Vegas...The Strip Part Two

IMG_4932-1 copy2Hanging out in front of the Bellagio waiting for the show to start. I swear every time we are there we just barely miss it. Calvin is doing his best to never look at the camera.

And the show finally started, putting Calvin into a trance and Carter into a giggle fest. It's pretty hilarious, Carter has always had a thing for water as long as I can remember. It's just cute being able to watch them both be so entertained.IMG_4937-1 IMG_1389 copy

The Bellagio Botanical Gardens never cease to amaze me. Those are streams of water shooting across the walkway. They were really cool, however, some 40 year old mature piece of dog poop decided it would be clever to stick his hand in it while I was walking under it. IMG_4905 copy IMG_1369IMG_4893-1 copy

Vegas...The Strip

DSC_2031-1 We started our evening at the strip by first visiting the "flamimos." Definitely a highlight for Calvin. He loves all animals, but "flamimos, giiraaf, and bebras" are amongst some of his top favorites. Thankfully we were able to see all sorts of them in Vegas, real, stuffed, and fake.

DSC_2073-1DSC_2086 Calvin's checking out this crazy looking bird. I have no idea what it was, I forgot to read.

Cutey Carter, so nice that he is willing to pose for a picture! I wish someone else would...

Me and the boys, don't mind my crazy hair...DSC_2038-1

DSC_2125-1Yeah, we found a "Bebra!" And a giant giiraaf too, all for only $300 bucks each. He also really really wanted the miniature baby grand piano for a mere 3 grand. Gotta love FAO Schwartz! The disappointment of the evening was finding out they sold the giant floor piano from "Big." I guess 50 grand is 50 grand, but man so sad, I thought that was a FAO Schwartz staple.

Calvin was also extremelyDSC_2137-1 fascinating with the store employee who could juggle and skateboard at the same time. Two of Calvin's favorite past times, and no he can't really do either, but holy cow, he sure tries. Calvin has had his own skateboard since he was 18 months old, since he was always fascinated with watching the kids across the street. And Will can juggle so Calvin always wants to try. I'm sure its not long before he's doing both.

Vegas...Lake Mead

On Saturday we drove up to Lake Mead to go feed these ugly creatures. Carter and Calvin thought it was the best thing in the world. I have to say, as ugly as they are, it was amazing watching hordes of them just swimming on top of each other trying to eat the rice crispies. DSC_1790-1DSC_1762-1DSC_1783-1DSC_1781-1The most exciting part is when Uncle Derrick held Calvin and Carter over the edge of the dock so that they could touch the fish. Neither one of them could get enough of it.

After the fish feeding frenzy ended. We walked over to the edge of the lake and let the boys chuck rocks for a bit and once again enjoyed the beautiful weather. DSC_1924-1

Vegas...Day at the Park

Escaping the Boise cold, and enjoy upper 60 and 70 degree weather was one of the best parts of the trip!

Vegas...Part 1

We started our Vegas trip off by immediately hitting up the outlet mall for the Vans and Hurley stores and free carousel night. DSC_1548-1DSC_1569-1

Calvin especially loved the horsies and special scratchies from Aunt Megan (she can grow nails unlike her sister).

And I swear Carter loved the carousel too even though he looks in pain or painfully bored in this picture. Although I do love the pic!

My little singing piano man! Calvin was absolutely obsessed with Carter's toys, but probably most of all this one. Anytime he could sneak in there and play on it he would.

Bathtime with a friend is always more fun! IMG_6492
