This cute thing is my niece, Emily. She is Kyle's newest. They came up for Thanksgiving and we gave her her first sucker. A sticky disgusting but extrodinarily cute mess!

more Spokane...
We got to see Katelyn's baptism. It was so fun and we were so happy to spend that special day with her.
Ty came to visit for a little bit, and I can honestly say this is one kid that can give Calvin a run for his money. Calvin was so excited to play with him, but Ty just wasn't as excited to play with Calvin, and spent most of the time in the playhouse. Calvin tried to invite himself inside and Ty slapped Calvin across the face. I think that is the first time someone has stood up to Calvin, although Calvin tried to take him out after that.
The girls convinced Calvin to play dress up, and surprisingly he eagerly complied. Normally he hates all things girly.

Calvin and Emily
In Courd'A lene, Idaho. I ranted and raved to Will how incredible Courd'A Lene is and it was freezing the day we went, still beautiful though.

Settler's Park
During one of Brooke and Katelyn's visits, we headed to Settler's Park so the kids could run around and get wet. They had a blast, and we got some cute shots.

Discovery Center with Brooke and Katelyn (and Emily)
Over Memorial we hit up the Discovery Center with Katelyn and Brooke, which is Boise's little science museum. The kids had the best time. Calvin was being his usual ham, so we have lots of fake smiles, but the T-Rex pic cracks me up the most, only because I sat there and watched as Calvin, first had to pet it, then the growling noises began...and then next thing I turn around and the T-Rex was eating him!

In the green room being turned into camera spiders.
Goofball in the eternity mirrors.
Giant bubbles, turny thing, bed of nails and cute legs....

I think the biggest hit was the kitchen, at least with the girls. I'm pretty sure they could have spend all day here!
They also loved the veterinary clinic, although by this time, Calvin had turned into the hulk, which wasn't making Brooke too happy. His idea of fun was to throw the animals and furniture around.

The Day we went to visit Bampa...

My dad's 70th birthday would have been May 27th. We all went together to his grave. Not only did Calvin finally figure out that every time we had previously driven by the cemetary and yelled, "Hi, Bampba!" that Bampa wasn't actually a field or there, but it has spurred a whole ton of curiosities about dead people with Calvin. Now he seems to think that any sprinkler box or other flat something or other burried in grass contains a dead person, so he will go around our yard, or my mom's and point out all the dead people.
We really miss my dad, it's been so nice to be back in his and my mom's ward because on many occasions, the ward members quote him and will bring up fond memories of him to me. I especially wish Calvin would have gotten to meet him, because I know he would have adored him and visa versa. At least I know, he has a good guardian angel.

End of summer...
Ok last of the pool shots, I promise (until next year)... I was still having fun trying out the new lens though.

Easter Sunday
We started off Sunday morning with an Easter egg hunt over at my mom’s house. Calvin loved it, but had a hard time staying focused and was completely distracted as soon as he found his basket from the Easter Bunny.
Brooke and Katelyn after finding their goods.
After finding their baskets we moved to the “outdoor” egg hunt. Calvin picked up a few eggs and I did my best to keep him focused, but the “Tramping” trumps an egg hunt any time. And Brooke was hilarious, because she didn’t want any wet eggs (from the wet lawn). So Kyle was trying to go around and dry them all before she would pick them up.
I was pretty bummed because most of my Easter shots of Calvin were over-exposed (still learning how to use my camera) but I still thought the above one was cute.

Rafiki
Over Thanksgiving weekend we went to Boise's new kiddee play place, Rafiki. It was so fun, and totally the cutest place! They have a giant dress up area, karaoke, kitchen and shopping area, blocks, train table, giant foam shapes, dance revolution, slides and playground, ping pong, an art area, and then tons of couches and juice bar for the parents. Check it out here http://rafikiplay.com/
Calvin was immediately drawn to the dress up area, and picked out a pink unicorn hat, and then off to stroll the pink stroller. Will would be so proud.
Ashley and Brooke climbing up the playground.
Katelyn was happy to cook and serve everyone some food.
Poor little pumpkin was sick and we didn't realize just how sick she was... She spent most of her time curled up with her binky and blankey. Poor thing!
