And this year's Christmas card...

So I realize that with the invention of the DVR, that watching commercials is mostly a thing of the past. So unfortunately, not everyone understood my Christmas card this year. In fact, I'm surprised I knew who I was, since I don't watch any show that isn't recorded. However somehow I've managed to see a few, but I was trying to emulate the Crazy Target lady. She is always on Target's 2-day sale commercials, I've come to love her. You can check out her here!
And here is a still of her:

$2 Dollar Shirts

I got stoked when I found some christmas shirts for 2 bucks. So we all got some, the sizes were limited, and maybe a few were a little gay, but it was still fun!

Jaleese and I noticed that we cordinated, so a pic was needed ;)

More Christmas Pics...

Calvin's fake smiles, kill me. I love this kid, he has so much personality and I love it! Will, sadly had to work Christmas morning, but we had his family over Christmas eve night for dinner, then did our family present opening that night as well. Afterwards, we headed to my mom's for the usual festivites there.

Unfortunately, Calvin doesn't look thrilled to take a pic with me, but this is all I got :(

Christmas Pics

We had a great Christmas, and Calvin was a very lucky boy. He got a batman car from katelyn, his Trio Batcave from Grandma, a batman fishing pole, books, Moon Dough, movies, and mommy searched high and low for a giant "Breaky Man" otherwise known as Fantastic Four's the Thing. Calvin first spotted a giant ceramic Thing at a gift shop in Spokane. He had a giant melt down over the fact that we refused to buy the $50 ceramic. A. It was ceramic, not really play worthy. B. Sorry kid, I love you but $50 bucks is more than I spend on a just because gift ;) So I searched and searched for something comparable, and I think I found the only available one. He was stoked! Thank goodness!!! Santa also brought Calvin the Dragon house he had been begging for for 6 months. So it was a good day!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning started off with Calvin coming downstairs to see his stockings and unwrapping our gifts. It was so fun seeing him so excited about Christmas this year, although the present unwrapping was a little painful since he just wanted to play with whatever he unwrapped instead of continuing the process.

We had Will's family over for breakfast and had a great time, then afterwards we went to my mom's for presents and Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful Christmas and we all felt so very blessed.

Someone was a little excited about his candy cane!

My favorite gift I got Will, was a "Beard" hat, so that he would have no more beard growing excuses. I can't say that he totally shared the love, but at least he found it humorous. My discontent for facial hair has been deeply rooted since I was a little girl. For some reason, I've always associated facial hair with murders and rapists.

Calvin had instant love for his Mr. Freeze...little did he know what was yet to come.

Jill, Calvin and Jaleese trying to hide from me so Calvin wouldn't have to take a nap.

After the nap we did presents at my mom's.

As you can see, some could hardly contain their excitement...
Others were a little bit more enthusiastic.
Calvin carefully inspecting his "superhero" shoes.
When you get older, you don't always get fun toys for Christmas. Good thing Calvin shared, so that my mom, Jill and I could explore our inner child.
And Calvin was elated by his very Batman christmas...in his eyes, life simply could not get better than this.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we have a tradition of homemade pizza, games and of course a little something to get us all into the Christmas spirit. After dinner, Santa Claus tried to come visit Calvin. It didn't go over so well. He immediately took off running, refused to look at him, and told Santa to go to church (that is where he saw Santa the first time).

Since my older nephew and nieces wouldn't comply (apparently Santa just isn't cool for those between the ages of 18 and 22), Jill and I attempted to show Calvin how nice Santa was. He got me a present :)

Unfortunately, it didn't help Calvin feel better about the situation.

After the Santa trauma was over with we continued the festivies with Christmas stories, songs, and opening gifts.

Calvin's Decorating

Since I'm a little anal retentive about my main tree, Calvin gets his very own Christmas tree. He takes great pride in it too, and tells everyone that that's "Calvin's tree." One evening I'm getting ready for a white elephant Christmas party, and trying to wrap mine and Will's gifts, and I notice my gift is missing. Looking everywhere, I finally find them hanging from Calvin's tree. :)

Gardens Aglow

We decided to all go check out the Idaho Botanical Garden's "Gardens Aglow" this year. The Last time I went, Calvin was still baking in my tummy. It was pretty awesome as usual. The pictures don't do it justice. Besides amazing lights, they have Santa Claus, reindeer, and the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted.

Calvin vs. Santa Claus

So Calvin had a pretty trying day yesterday. He's been sick for the last couple days and not necessarily on his best behaviour right now. Not that that is atypical from most any other day, however I was explaining to him that Santa Claus was coming and that it was really important that he be a good boy, because Santa only brings presents to good boys that listen to their mommies. Calvin's response:

"Shut up, Santa Claus!"

Me: What did you say?

Calvin: Shut up, Santa Claus!

Me: Uh, I don't think that will put you on the good boy list, you better tell Santa you are sorry or he might not bring you any presents.

Calvin: Shut up, Santa Claus!

Me: Ok, I guess Santa can't bring you any presents now.

Calvin: Torry Santa Claus. I so torry!

The Ward Christmas Party

Last night was the ward Christmas party and Calvin just couldn't get enough of the stage. He joined up with the primary kids during their singing performance and then we had a heck of a time getting him to stay off of it after that. He also stood on a chair right below and shot the camels and the wise men puppets with his finger gun. I'll have to get the video on here.

Tyler Coltrin got up to hang with Calvin and the primary kids too. Such big boys!

Christmas Day

 tr

calvy_trikeThe best thing about Christmas this year was watching Calvin's reaction to everything. Even though he never would sit on Santa's lap, he totally loved the present thing. Anytime he saw anything that looked remotely Christmasy, he would immediately say, "Ho, ho, ho, merry mismus!"

We woke up early and Calvin ran for the tricycle. I'm sure he didn't have a clue wpresenttimehat it was suppose to do, but he just knew it was going to be fun.  It was pretty dang cute. He wanted to open all of his presents while seated on it.

Calvin also had to demonstrate his smelling obsession.  It's pretty funny, but he needs to smell everything. Anything that enters his mouth, and apparently all of his presents too. Strange kid, but he keeps us laughing!

After we opened presents and ate breakfast, we braved the snow and headed out to Kuna to spend the rest of the morning with Will's family. There we opened more presents, were entertained by Calvin, and ate lunch. After Kuna, we headed to my mom's for Prime Rib dinner and desert. It was a great Christmas, and we have so much to be thankful for!

Christmas Eve

Although no one came to visit us this Christmas, we still had a good time, enjoying homemade pizza, cranberry butter rum cake, presents, Santa Claus hats, and fun. We may have hit up the egg nog a little hard this time...santahats

calvy Megan got Calvin one of the coolest presents I have ever seen. I need to take a picture of it. It's a giant Mr. Potato Head, Disneyland exclusive, and holds a million Disney related potato head parts. We love it and all our other gifts too! Thanks Megan!

The old people, (whom woldpeoplee lovingly refer to my Grandma and Uncle Russell as), having too much fun unwrapping their gifts. We're just glad they're still kicking it.

Me, loving my new cutey pig ornament from Buggy! Bug has started a new cute tradition of getting me a pig ornament every year. Her own idea, so cute! I love it!

And just because we couldn't get enough of the Santa Hats, here is Jill, Jaleese, and Bug. simmonshats
