The Haunted World

This is what Calvin has begged to do all year since his visit last year. What's pretty funny is although, he wants to hold your hand pretty tight. He doesn't really get too scared. These two faces below were the best nervous faces I got. Quite honestly, the Haunted World is one of the best I've seen, I'm surprised he didn't have nightmares over it.

Halloween and Best Friends

Calvin informed me the other day, "Wemi (Remi) is my best friend, cause she's a gwown up!" So this is him and his grown up friend Remi, trick or treating on Halloween night. By the way, Calvin also let me know that Optimus Prime always looks like that (the pose he is in with Remi).

Us at the trunk or treat...a little lack luster this year, but I was just glad I could convince Calvin to wear the Grandma jammie over the werewolf costume. I had to tell him over and over again that he just ate the grandma and he was in disguise, stressing the awesomeness of eating the grandma.
Jill and I at the Fusion Magazine Party. It was the easiest thing to be since being Zombies for Calvin's zombie party.

Ice Skating

And when the sledding got too cold, we hit the skating rink. You can see how well it went with Calvin, then Jill and I attempted our best Apollo Ohno impersonations. Although I think Jill got confused with Forrest Gump.

Gettin' Our Bounce On

Bounce is one of Calvin's favorite places to go to, but as you can see pretty much everyone enjoys the fun. Although Jill and I had higher hopes for the Velcro wall, imagining ourselves jumping up and attaching much higher than 6 inches from the air mattress. We also imagined we'd be stuck in position much longer than 2 seconds. I guess you need stronger Velcro for us fatties!

$2 Dollar Shirts

I got stoked when I found some christmas shirts for 2 bucks. So we all got some, the sizes were limited, and maybe a few were a little gay, but it was still fun!

Jaleese and I noticed that we cordinated, so a pic was needed ;)

Halloween

I hate that I'm so behind, but I have a really good excuse, which I'll probably explain later. Anyhow, here is Halloween finally. I was bummed that Will was out of town because I lost my Joker to go with my trio. Calvin wanted to be Batman, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, and like 12 other things, I finally got him to settle one Batman, and bought him a cheapy Iron Man for his class party. Since I like my family theme costumes, I decided to go with Posion Ivy. I was only able to find hooker Poison Ivy costumes available for purchase, so I had to make my own. It was fun though. I bought the green catsuit, and then glued a bunch of leaves that I had previously painted and glittered up to a bustier. I painted some gloves and boots, and then my finishing touch and favorite part of the costume was my eyebrow leaves. Which I glued on with eyelash glue then painted gold paint on my lid and up over the leaf.

We headed to Haunted World after the ward Trunk or Treat. Calvin had been asking to go to a haunted house. I was worried that he was going to be scared to death and permantely scarred, but he absolutely loved it! And I have to say, that is one Haunted House worth the money, they did an absolutely amazing job. I don't know how my kid just laughed through it.

We also brough Max back out for Boo at the Zoo!

Russell's Graveside Service

My Great Uncle Russell passed away this year, the very end of July. We were his only family, and he was kind of a recluse, so we just had a small graveside service with my mom, Jill, Will, Calvin and me. He was buried in Gooding, near his brother (my grandpa) and my mom's brother and Calvin's namesake).

My mom and Calvin next to Uncle Calvin's grave.

Calvin got a bit bored, but found a good spot to sit.

Here is my grandpa's grave and my great-grandparent's grave.

Chalk Calvin's

Chalk Calvin's became one of Calvin's favorite past times this summer. Jill would trace around him and then he would fill in his features.

Good Times at Crosby,Stills, and Nash

Directed at me, for reals...although i was the youngest one there by 20 some odd years, and the only one with a giant camera, since I'm sneaky. It was a fun concert though and I was pleasantly surprised to know more of their music than I realized. The venue is incredible. It was the new Eagle River Venue and the perfect setting for a show like this.

Meeting Emily...

Meet Emily, the oldest of my 3 new nieces born this year!!! Emily was born March 28th and we finally got to meet her in May for the first time, when Kyle and his family came to visit Memorial weekend. She could not be more perfect and we were all instantly in love.

Dall even took to coordinating his wardrobe with hers.

And Calvin, thought she was the greatest thing, although I can't say she shared that sentiment for him.

Grandma's 90-something birthday!

Grandma is super old this year...90-something. Once you get past 80, don't expect me to exactly remember your age. Hmmm, she might just be 90, I do have some memory of someone saying just 90. Anyhow, we partied it up at Johnny Carinos for some yummy Italian eats. By the way, like my mom's photography skills? ;)

Christmas Day

Christmas morning started off with Calvin coming downstairs to see his stockings and unwrapping our gifts. It was so fun seeing him so excited about Christmas this year, although the present unwrapping was a little painful since he just wanted to play with whatever he unwrapped instead of continuing the process.

We had Will's family over for breakfast and had a great time, then afterwards we went to my mom's for presents and Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful Christmas and we all felt so very blessed.

Someone was a little excited about his candy cane!

My favorite gift I got Will, was a "Beard" hat, so that he would have no more beard growing excuses. I can't say that he totally shared the love, but at least he found it humorous. My discontent for facial hair has been deeply rooted since I was a little girl. For some reason, I've always associated facial hair with murders and rapists.

Calvin had instant love for his Mr. Freeze...little did he know what was yet to come.

Jill, Calvin and Jaleese trying to hide from me so Calvin wouldn't have to take a nap.

After the nap we did presents at my mom's.

As you can see, some could hardly contain their excitement...
Others were a little bit more enthusiastic.
Calvin carefully inspecting his "superhero" shoes.
When you get older, you don't always get fun toys for Christmas. Good thing Calvin shared, so that my mom, Jill and I could explore our inner child.
And Calvin was elated by his very Batman christmas...in his eyes, life simply could not get better than this.
