David Osmond and my claim to fame....

Once upon a time I went to a Christmas production put on by Salt Lake City's Odyssey Dance Theater (Thanks to Leslie for always hooking us up.) The guest star of the production was none other than David Osmond. You haven't heard of him? Well neither had I until that point, but he is Donny's nephew and Alan's son. Anyhow, with my nice close seats, thanks again to Les, I immediately started crushing on this tall dark handsome man, with an incredible voice. Of course I didn't do anything about it and fortunately I didn't need to, because two days later he came into Banana Republic, where I worked. I couldn't believe my eyes. I was sure it was destiny and I was having a hard time trying to contain myself and play it cool. I let him walk around a bit while I worked on getting the nerve up to approach him, when out of no where he started singing. I'm not talking just a little humming along to what was playing on the Banana speakers, he was full blown singing some song of his own creation. I couldn't believe it! And so there, just like that he did it, he ruined my crush...I had no problem approaching him at this point to help him, since I was actually embarrassed for him.

Me: Is there anything I can help you find?
David: Well, ya, I'm looking for something nice to where on Saturday night.
Me: How nice? Shirt and tie, suit? Blah blah...
David: Probably a shirt and tie.

So I picked out an awesome shirt and tie, which he bought. And my story doesn't end here! Low and behold, little did I know I was going to the party that David was attending and performing in on Saturday night. I run right into him and he's wearing the shirt and tie I helped him pick out!

Me: Nice shirt and tie!
David: Thanks!(With a knowing smile on his face).

And so there you have it, one of my little claims to fame, even if he's only kind of famous. Who knows maybe we'll have another David win the Idolship and he'll become super famous and I can say I helped him pick out a shirt and tie one time. If that's the case, it may just surpass my Josh Groban story.

Good luck to you David, may you remember those that helped you look so stylish in your prefame years!

update: It has occured to me that I have a thing for dark-haired handsome singers!

That is very funny, I thought he was kind of a dork last night anyway. It will be interesting to see how far he makes it. I bought the Shack book at Costco, you can borrow it when I am done if you want.
